Ain't It Lucky.

Here's a new song I've been working on. Figured I'd be brave.

Ain't it funny, how sometimes when it rains, it really pours.
All at once, everything decides to blow down the door.
Ain't it lucky, how it always seems to catch you off guard.

Ain't it frightening, how everything is hanging by a thread.
One wrong move, and the world you know could come to an end.
In that moment, you'll pray to God to catch your heart.
As it falls through your chest.

Honey hold your head up, the sun ain't gone down yet.
Honey hold your head up, the sun ain't gone down yet.
Honey hold your head up, the end hasn't come yet.
Honey hold your head up, the sun ain't gone down yet.
All you gotta do, is just trust me on this one.
Just trust me on this one.

Another Favourite.

Angus and Julia Stone. Siblings, Australians, talented musicians, what more is there to say.

"Big Jet Plane".

Next On The List.

Can you say delightful. After stumbling upon this lovely recipe, I decided it was my duty to recreate such a wonderful treat myself. When I do, I'll be sure to upload the result.

Midnight.

Made it home from the beach today. A four hour drive back from the lovely Hilton Head Island. I could very well say that it is my favourite escape.. So....captivating it is. The Ocean. It's almost as if romance just hangs in the air. Preying on the hearts of the young. The hearts of the innocent, the light-minded.
Purity blows so effortlessly through their hair. And though heartbreak doesn't lie too far behind me, I must confess that that very same romance, that very same purity, also blows through mine...

James Vincent McMorrow - If I had a Boat

Dublin born singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow has captured my heart to say the least. A new found treasure of mine. His debut album "Early In The Morning" was entirely self-recorded in a little house by the sea, McMorrow playing each instrument. Sound fictitious? It may, but it is entirely the truth. To put it quite plainly, this mans voice makes me melt.

Experimenting.

Yet another addition to the list of projects "in the works". This happens to be my first attempt at the art of crocheting. I must say, I'm rather impressed, not because it's perfect, but because it far surpasses the result of my first kitted piece. When I have the time (which I haven't for the past few months) it's a very productive time killer, as long as I'm paying close attention. The edges are rough, and I tend to end up with a few too many loops (or just the opposite), but hey, it's only the first.

Things Are 'a Changin.

I find the Robin's Egg Blue to be just dreamy as an accent. Though she was hesitant at first, I urged her to trust my opinion, and I believe it turned out just lovely. To the left you'll see a photo of the recently painted front door. It's a coral colour of sorts, and for me, it hits the summertime nail right on the head. Below is our newly introduced doorbell, created by my oh-so-talented artist of a mother.
More to come on the many updates around the house.

P&P

I've set a recent goal. A goal for my summer specifically. Though I would like to raise the bar much higher, I must take into account that with my schedule, it's almost impossible to fit in one good book a month, let alone four or five. Nevertheless, I've set my eyes on Pride and Prejudice. I feel I'm a bit behind in this decision, for I happen to be the type of person one would think had read the book a million times over. But alas, I have not. And frankly I'm quite sick of lacking insight into such a classic.

Sew What.

This is quite possibly my favourite place to be. Deep in the world of "creating". One could walk into my room at anytime and pick out at least 3 current projects of mine; you may even say I'm a creative outlet junkie. Always busy; busy busy busy.
Recently finished project: headband. ^^ Went for the "homemade look". The "not quite perfect" approach to fashion.

Thrifty Thursday

The result of a much needed thrifting expedition. I discovered quite a few little shops I wasn't previously familiar with: Hong Kong Vintage among them, and now a new favourite I must say. A friend of mine accompanied me on this adventure, and an adventure it surely was. Seeing as though we did find ourselves miserably lost in the whir of downtown Charlotte and faulty directions. But I shan't complain, for the confusion lead us to a lovely little place called the Crepe Kitchen, which served our weariness, as well as our hunger, quite well. Not to mention the quaint frozen yogurt shop next door, (this happened to be my first endeavour into the world of such a decadent treat). And by the end of the day, we had had ourselves a very Thrifty Thursday.
